Soap Creek Saloon was a key venue in the development of Austin, TX as a formidable center for live, original music. Described by Doug Sahm as Groovers’ Paradise, this little honky tonk in the hills booked a wide array of musical genres and created an environment that was a favorite of areas performers like Willie Nelson, Doug Sahm, Freddie Fender, Delbert McClinton and Paul Ray and the Cobras. Players like Stevie Ray Vaughan brought several versions of his band to Soap Creek. Please come join the fun remembering this gone but not forgotten legendary Austin music venue.
